Student discounts exist, but finding them is often the hard part. Which café has a student price? What does the bookshop offer? Where is printing cheaper? Cebix is being built to answer exactly that: a free student discount app for university students in Azerbaijan. The app isn't out yet, but here's how it will work.
What is Cebix?
Cebix brings places with student discounts together in one app. You browse a map or a list and see what's on sale, the price and where it is. At the till you show a QR code in the app and the discount is applied. No cards to carry, no coupons to collect, no promo codes to remember.
3 steps at the till
1. Sign up and verify your student card
You register in the app and verify your student card. You only do this once. Verification makes sure the discounts really go to students.
2. Pick a place
Look at nearby places on the map or scroll through the list. For each place you see what's discounted, the price and the address, so you know what you'll pay before you even leave. Categories will include:
- cafés and restaurants;
- books and printing;
- accessories and electronics;
- sport and health;
- gaming and entertainment;
- clothing and beauty;
- travel.
3. Show the QR code at the till
When it's time to pay, open the QR code in the app and show it. The discount is applied. Then you pay at the till as usual, in cash or by card. The app holds no money, and no payment goes through it.
Why is it free?
This is the question we hear most, and the answer is simple. The shop gives the discount itself. Cebix just helps you find it and use it. Students pay Cebix nothing:
- no subscription;
- no bank card needed;
- no hidden fees.
There's no balance or wallet in the app. Every manat you save stays in your pocket.
What are coins?
Every time you use a discount, you earn coins. Coins unlock hidden offers in the app: deals that aren't open to everyone.
The more you use Cebix over a semester, the higher your status climbs, and the more coins each discount brings:
- First-year: ×1
- Student: ×1.25
- higher statuses: ×1.5 and ×2
So when you buy the things you'd buy anyway at a student price, you save money and open up new offers at the same time.
How to get the most out of Cebix
- Check the map before you head out: there may be a discount right on your way.
- Buy the things you buy regularly (coffee, printing, books) where there's a student price: that means savings and coins.
- Use it steadily through the semester: your status rises with use, and coins build up faster.
- Now and then, look at your coins and the hidden offers they've unlocked.
- Put discounted prices into your monthly budget plan, so your savings show up as real numbers.

Frequently asked questions
When will the app be out? We're working on it right now. It will come to the App Store and Google Play, and if you leave your e-mail on the site, we'll let you know when it's ready.
Who can use it? University students in Azerbaijan, once their student card is verified.
Do I pay anything on top of the discounted price? No. You pay the shop the discounted price as usual, and Cebix takes nothing.
Do I need to link my bank card? No. The app holds no money and needs no card; you pay at the till as usual.
